It doesn't hurt to apply to them anyways, because you just might get lucky and find someone who needs a driver bad enough to bend the rules a little and take you on. For those who are not aware of this, if you take your driving test for your CDL in an automatic you will have a restriction on your CDL that says you can only drive automatics.
